Many organizations schedule and perform audits based on the ISO 9001:2008 clause structure. Auditing by clause instead of process defines an artificial scope. And, the Plan-Do-Check-Act structure of ISO 9001:2008 means the audit of a single clause may not fully address the requirement, since the complete requirement may span multiple clauses.

Note: Successful completion of the Internal Auditor and Lead Auditor courses satisfy the training requirements of the RABQSA. To become a certified internal auditor or lead auditor requires additional professional requirements to be met.
