This BSI competency-based 2-day Requirements course is designed to provide students with a basic knowledge and a degree of comfort with ISO 14001:2004.  Students gain a working understanding of key environmental management concepts, such as aspect and impact identification and setting objectives and targets.  The course structure incorporates presentations and interactive discussions. An experienced instructor explains the ISO 14000 series of standards in detail and includes auditing the requirements of the standard. Students learn by participating in group exercises and in-depth discussions.

This course covers the RABQSA TPECS EM – Environmental Management Systems Competency Unit whose outcomes are certified by RABQSA.  Attendees successfully completing this course receive a Certificate of Attainment for this RABQSA Competency Unit.

  • Purpose and content of an audit report

Materials
Students receive comprehensive course manuals with reference materials.

Audience
Any individual requiring a working knowledge and understanding of ISO 14001:2004; Environmental professionals and consultants; Presidents, Vice Presidents, and CEOs; Management Representatives; Engineers; Supervisors; Laboratory quality professionals; and accredited auditors requiring competency to audit environmental management systems.

Duration
The course is taught as a two-day class.

  • Day 1:  8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Day 2:  8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Fee
The course fee is $895 per student. To confirm your enrollment, pre-payment will be required.

Early Bird Discount
If you pay at least 60 days in advance, you will receive a $75 discount, reducing the fee to $820.

Group Discount
If you enroll three students, the fourth student is free, which equates to 25% off each enrollment.

Prerequisite
A prior review of the ISO 14001:2004 standard is suggested for this course. 

Logistics
There is a written test at the end of Day 2 of this course.  Detailed exam instructions will be provided.  A Certificate of Attainment in the EM competency unit will be provided for students who are deemed “Competent” for the EM competency unit.  Certificates of attendance are provided to those who do not pass the competency test, and students will be given the opportunity to retake the test.
