Description This BSI Management Systems course begins with a review of ISO/TS 16949:2009 and then teaches the principles of process auditing in accordance with quality management system standards and ISO 19011:2002, “Guidelines for Quality and/or Environmental Management Systems Auditing.” In addition, the concepts and the rules for IATF recognition will be discussed. Through small group activities, audit role-plays, lively discussions, and instructor-led lectures, students gain a thorough understanding of the principles of auditing and how to apply the guidance of ISO 19011:2002 to implement effective audit programs for automotive manufacturing organizations.
Note: This course is certified by RABQSA. Students successfully completing this course (by passing the continual evaluation and the written examination) fulfill the RABQSA training requirements for QMS Auditor and Lead QMS Auditor certification.
Audience This course is intended for anyone responsible for leading an audit or interested in satisfying the training requirements for becoming a certified Lead Auditor. Management Representatives, Quality Directors, Managers, Engineers, and Internal and External Auditors typically attend this course.
Duration The course is taught as a four and 1/2 day class, with a two-hour examination on the morning of the fifth day. This course meets the time requirements for the RABQSA. Time allocated for breaks, lunch, and the written exam is excluded from this total. In addition, there are individual evening assignments. Long hours are to be expected.
