ISO 9001:2000 Guidance for Food and Drink Industry

ISO/FDIS 15161, “Guidelines on the application of ISO 9001:2000 for the food and drink industry”, is expected to be published as an international standard by the end of this year. The guidance document is for organizations involved in all aspects of the industry, including sourcing, processing, and packaging of food and drink products.

ISO/FDIS 15161 takes into account food safety systems such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) for analyzing food processing for foreign, undesirable, or hazardous agents to ensure hygiene and safety in food production.
