Larry Whittington

Larry WhittingtonLarry Whittington is President of Whittington & Associates, LLC, a training and consulting company located in Orlando, FL. His broad experience includes strategic planning, technical education, management consulting, systems engineering, software development, quality auditing, and project leadership.

Larry is an IRCA certified Lead QMS Auditor and Exemplar Global certified Master QMS Auditor. He performs audits for one of the world’s largest registrars. In addition, he was trained as a TickIT lead auditor for software systems and was an AIAG certified Lead Auditor for the automotive industry. Larry is also an ASQ Certified Quality Auditor and ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer.

Larry teaches ISO 9001 requirements, documentation, implementation, and auditing courses. He has taught hundreds of classes to thousands of students and receives outstanding evaluations. Larry has also developed or taught courses on IATF 16949 (Automotive); AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120 (Aerospace); ISO 27001 (Information Security); ISO 20000 (IT Services); ISO 14001 (Environment); ISO 45001 (Safety); ISO 13485 (Medical Devices); and TL 9000 (Telecommunications).

Larry developed a certified Lead Auditor course for BSI Training. His highly rated Quality System Documentation and Implementation courses have been licensed for use by other trainers.

Larry has written articles for quality and auditing magazines, conducted webinars, and speaks often at conferences and ASQ section meetings. His free e-Newsletter on management system topics is read monthly by thousands of subscribers.

While at IBM, he managed the application software development process and advised multiple divisions on their ISO 9001 implementation activities. Larry has also consulted on the Capability Maturity Model developed by the Software Engineering Institute.

Larry received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with High Honors and a Master of Engineering from the University of Florida. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi, and Sigma Tau honor societies. In addition, he is a senior member of the American Society for Quality.
